Grief Counseling
I am a licensed therapist offering years of experience working with diverse clients of all ages in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health, private practice and counseling survivors of domestic and sexual violence. In addition, I also have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
As a clinician with a passion for working with women, I have a particular interest in working with adult women of all ages through life transitions, bereavement (including pet bereavement), infertility and pregnancy loss as well as anxiety and self-image issues.
I strive to create a counseling experience that meets the client where they are by tailoring treatment to meet each individual’s needs. To accomplish this I utilize an integrated approach drawn from a variety of theoretical orientations, with a focus on personal strengths, self-compassion, and identifying and modifying maladaptive thoughts and behaviors.
I am genuinely curious about human nature and the human experience, which I believe enables me to forge authentic and positive connections with those I work with. Moreover, I believe the foundation of an effective therapy experience is a strong, egalitarian and respectful relationship between clinician and client, and the creation of a space that allows a client to feel safe, valued, and free of judgment. In addition, I am a lifelong learner with a rich and unusual professional background which provides me with a variety of tools to think ‘outside of the box’ when working with clients.
