Our learning approach is

Waldorf-inspired

Stories provide the launch for each arts-based learning module.

Conversational

Active listening & sharing practices offer social emotional awareness of self and other perspectives.

Experiential

Creative Process provides hands-on learning and integration of core social learning.

Self Reflective

End of Day Review invites each child to share what they practiced that day, how it felt to try new challenges, & their chosen trackable Goal for the week ahead.

Rhythm of the Day

Arrival & BYO Lunch or Snack
12 –12:30pm

This slow start approach allows kids & families to start off unhurried and relaxed. Kids can have BYO nibbles, free social time or play outdoors while getting ready for a fun, focused & social afternoon. Parents can check in or share about how the week has been or take a beat to connect with other parents.

Community Circle & Social Skill of the Day
12:30 –1:15pm

Circle time sets the focal point of what we will be practicing throughout the day and over the next week. Circles may include movement games, rhythmic play, song creation, and collaborative group game structures to help each child explore the social skill target of the week. Groups facilitated by a Creative Arts Therapist each week.

Social Goal Setting
1:15pm –1:30pm

Circle time ends with each child developing an “ I will” goal that can earn them stars throughout the rest of the day and across the week ahead at home and in the community. Points can be cashed in at the end of each month at our community goal party!

Studio Arts Activity Blocks
1:30pm – 2:45pm

Creative activities will vary from week to week and may include: outdoor nature arts projects, collaborative game play, art studio time, and child-inspired creative projects.

Activities will be guided & children will be encouraged to “pod” in small groups to help build social practice time into their creative play.

Wrap Up Reflections Circle
2:45pm – 3pm

Each day will end with a wind down circle where children will be asked to share how they worked on their social goal for the day. Acknowledgements and appreciations will reinforce effort & awareness for all children present that day.
